There are four types of towers Mages, Archers, Barracks, and Artillery. They differentiate from one another based on what their strengths are. It can be played at different difficulties. These include casual, normal, or veteran which correspond to the usual easy, medium, and hard settings. The last game also introduced a new difficulty setting called impossible, which gets unlocked after the main campaign has been passed for the first time. The storyline of the game is very simple. It follows an unnamed general in the king’s army who is tasked with protecting a small coastal town from the attacking outlaws.Īs the player passes more levels and the game progresses the general is moving further into the kingdom in an effort to fight off the invading forces.
The end of the game consists of the general defeating the big bad of the game, a wizard named Vez’nan. Vez’nan is a villain present throughout the entire game series.Īs you move forward through the game you can use the stars you get rewarded at the end of each level. The amount of stars the player receives will depend on their remaining lives. If the level is completed with five lives or less the player receives only one star. Anything above seventeen stars gets the player the maximum amount of tree stars and everything in between these two categories earns two stars.
